Whoa, there must be a typo! Everyone knows the 500 is bundled with 4 P2 cards -
what happened to the other 2? That's a dealbreaker.

So how much is the lens...

right...if you get one of the stock packages you get a Canon or Fuji ENG lens, 4 16GB Cards and the tripod plate.
You can, however, buy everything ala carte. This package includes a Angenieux 11.5x5.3 HD Cine Lens and the Tripod plate... but I only put 2 cards on there to keep costs down. On a film style shoot, a 2 card system works pretty well. You just treat the cards as you would film magazines. One card in the camera, the other in the "changing bag".
Of course, if you want, you can always add a 3rd and 4th card to this package.

So it seems like the lens is $14,730... or at least that's my best guess from a pdf from Chrosziel...

The lens actually lists at $26,900... however, its being discounted in this package... contact me directly for a pared down quote if you dont need the Chrosziel gear...

I just got off the phome with ZGC... wow I forgot that the pro 35 was $27k... then add some nice 35mm primes... maybe I'll go the way of rental... if I did purchase the 500... still have to play with numbers etc...

I looked at the Angenieux cine lenses at NAB, they are excellent and their price is affordable if compared to other lenses on the same category.
That said, remember that the HPX is a 2/3 chip camera and with cine lenses you'll need an adaptor, accessories, etc... Also the weight, focus, zoom, aperture and all control will be cine style. If you never used these before be ready for a whole different game.
They have another line of affordable HD 2/3 lenses that are great, very sharp, lightweight and compact. Their product feels and look very different than Canon and Fujinon.
Check their web site (which is lame) to see the options.

Their sales department and support people are great.

After a more careful look I found out that the "digital cinema" series from Angenieux are already set for 2/3" video cameras.
The 11.5x5.3 HD model is lightweight (3.9 lbs) and apparently very 'economical'.

So is this a good package for cinema? Can you do broadcast or special event videos with that lens also?

That's interesting, so, where to find these lenses?

and where do you get service for these lenses? Do they use Canon or Fuji zoom/focus controls?
