I recently decided to give After Effects a try instead of Combustion since more and more people I know are using it. I shoot HVX200 and edit with Avide Xpress Pro HD but am having trouble bringing those files into AECS3. I created a DVCProHD 720p 23.976 composite but, whenever I try to import HVX footage from Avid, the computer freezes up. I've tried both a QT reference and a same as source file from Avid. I've also tried both of those with and without the Avid DV Codec. Nothing will work. Any ideas?

Try exporting something a little more generic like Quicktime with the Animation codec, or Quicktime with the PNG codec.

Wouldn't that make quality loss happen?

No. Those are both lossless codecs.

I'm working strait PC. In Combustion, I tended to go uncompressed so I wouldn't lose quality but I'd really like to get QT references to work here. I mean, what's the point of AE letting me chose DVCProHD 720p 23.976 if it's not gonna accept it?
