If I am going to destroy a camera in a shot, which camera do I want??? (no NOT a DVX100) I don't follow cheap cameras and I would like something that won't break the bank, but will still not look like I switched to a VHS camera for the shot.... AND I really don't want it to look like I'm using a chunk of stock footage. I see that there are some "inexpensive" 3CCD cameras out there on ebay, but I have no idea what the output would look like from the various cameras. . I figure SOMEBODY has researched this... I remember reading something, but I can't find it again..

Panasonic GS320. I just bought one this weekend in a pinch for a second camera at a wedding. Great picture in auto mode, crisp focus and good low light performance. Very little manual controls, no mic input.

But at $425, you can't beat the picture. Check the review on CNET.com.

$425 just to break the camera? Fork that.

Pick up something like a canon ellure from ebay for under $200. They're older, very small, and still feel heavy and well constructed. I've used mine for some b-roll on a music video before, and with some tweaking in post, no one noticed a thing...

There's an older model (I can't remember what it is) of the camera I suggested, so you might be able to find that used.

Anyway, it's the best 3CCD for the money I know of.
