Pricey... but man, I went from transferring 4gig CF cards which took almost 2 hours. To transferring my data in under 4 minutes. If you have time crunches, you have to get a Firewire CF reader. Unfortunately, I didnt know anyone who used one before, and couldn't get a "word of mouth" confirmation. So I bit the bullet and just went with it. I am kicking myself in the butt for not getting this sooner.

I am sure there are other brands out there. But definitely get one if photography pays your bills.

This relates to this thread:

Not trying to highjack just asking question:

Do you guys use card readers instead of the USB put of the camera?

Filmgizmo i find that my USB 2 card reader is much faster transferring than the the USB from my D50

Aye. is 400 & 800. I was going to get the sandisc, but it was 40meg transfer and was out of stock. :( So I got the Hoodman which transfers 42meg/sec.

I never use the camera USB output because I still shoot while the cards are transferring.

And for bargain shoppers like me :) :

This one is 1/2 the speed, but only $20. It's fast enough for me though. If I filled up a 4GB card on a regular basis, I might not be as pleased with it. But it copies a 2GB card in around 5 minutes. My last card reader took around 20 minutes to do the same.

I always use a card reader.
