I just got my hvx a few weeks ago (coming from an XL1s) and I've spent the required time memorizing the manual and lurking this forum, but now I have my first "real" job for this camera.
I'm going to be filming a play for the drama dept. at my university and I'd like to get the best image quality possible (of course).
I have read through the picture settings that Adam Wilt explored in his article, which has helped me greatly, but I have a few questions.
Due to the lighting, I'm probably going to have blown highlights on actors faces. I'm comfortable with exposing for this light, but it can't really be helped.
I'm not going to be editing this footage, just shooting it, so I don't have control over post, which is likely to be fairly non-existant. Thus, I'd like to shoot a fairly good image right out of the camera.
As far as I can tell Cinelike V with +2 sharpening and Matrix set to norm is probably the best for me. Capturing good skin tones is my first priority.
What do you guys think?
I've got about 6 hours till the shooting begins. :D
