Have anyone tried converting the component signal from the HVX to VGA or DVI? I'm obviously thinking of using a cheap pc monitor, perhaps even CRT, as monitor. Is that even possible?

Check out something like:

It'll send 720p and 1080i to a VGA monitor. This is specifically designed for video game systems, but it should do the trick.
I was looking into this type of solution, but never ended up needing it, so I can't personally vouch for the adapter.
