Does anyone know if this would be a good run and gun camera? Next year i'm gonna start filming a independent-reality series called "American Bounty Hunter" and i need a camera i can run and gun with, would anyone recommend the XL2 for this kind of shooting?

I owned this camera for a year and from experience, yes, this would be a superb run and gun camera. The great thing, its come down way in price, so, if I were you, I'd grab the 20x stock lens + the 3x wide lens for your best run & gun configuration.
If it helps any, the tv show "DOG" -- the Hawaiian Bounty Hunter -- uses a mix of broadcast cameras + XL2's on the show. However, if you have it in the budget, go for the XL-H1; you can shoot HD or SD, but either way, you're getting an image sampled from 1920x1080 chips, so you're going to have a superior image quality of the XL2 any way you choose.

Really? i had no idea Dog uses the XL2! Thats great news! yeah it has come down a lot in price, and i was looking at the H1 originally but, i just bought a new notebook (XPS M1710) and that set me back about $3,200. Right now my budget for a new camera is around $4,000 so i could easily get the XL2 + The wide lens.

yeah being a firefighter i also make shit! B&H has the best price for the XL2 that i have seen so far, you might find a good used one on Ebay aswell. Heres the B&H link:

Probably where i will end up buying mine from. Dunno if this is what i'm getting yet tho, either the A1 or XL2. So it's a battle between HD and SD not much a of a challenge i know but i'm not sure that i will need the HD for what i'm shooting...
