Hi,

Does anyone know of a way to run more than one external monitor directly off the HVX?

I have a Marshall HDA mounted on the camera for critical focus but would like to run another feed to a Sony PVM (Standard Def) monitor for others to view.

After reading TFHVXM and doing some testing it's apparent that only one external video feed can be live at any one time.... a real pain in the a**. (Would love Panny to provide a firmware upgrade for this).

"Almost" a workaround: Because I feed the Marshall with 720P via component from the camera, it would be easy to take component out of the Marshall to the second monitor. Trouble is, the old PVM don't like that 720P feed.... and I don't have another HD field monitor.

Your help is apreciated.

Best,

Simon.

If you want to run low-def, you might be able to use the s-video and composite (yellow RCA) cables at the same time; I don't really know. But when you plug in the component cable, the other outputs become disabled.

So loop-through on the Marshall is the best way; apparently you'd have to get some sort of downconverter inbetween the Marshall's output and the PVM's input.

Thanks for your reply, Barry.

I agree that I'll have to use a portable in-line converter out from the Marshall. AJA probably have something, but no-doubt it will cost a small fortune.

Best,

Simon.
