I'm traveling to Europe (May 12-26) to shoot a fly-fishing documentary using a DVX100A (that's right, "A") and and HVX200 (the po' man's Vari-cam). We'll be cutting footage together from the two cameras along with 48k/16bit audio from both sources. For the HVX200 we've chosen the 720p/24pN format (for VFR capability and to save space on the P2 cards). For the DVX100 we've chosen Anamorphic 16:9, 24pA. We will be editing in FCP with a 23.98fps Timebase. My questions are...

1) Can we pull the footage from the DVX100A (24pA over 60i) onto a sequence using a "DVCPRO HD 720p/60p" Compressor and a 23.98fps Timebase using a Advanced (2:3:3:2) pulldown pattern?
3) What is the best way to "Up-Rez" 720x480 footage onto a 720p (720x1280) canvas? Scale in FCP or Kona card? How much for the card?
2) Will this lead to Audio Synchronization issues (48k/16bit)?
3) Can we transfer the final product (Sequence settings: DVCPRO-HD 720p/60p, 23.98 Timebase,) to film as well as down to a 24p over 60i master for TV without sound synch issues?
4) My clips shot at 720p/24pN and imported into FCP only show a bitrate of 5.9 mbps in their clip settings. What's up? Isn't it supposed to be near 100mbps?
5) Full-screen playback for 720p material is jumpy or non-existent in FCP (5.0.4). Is that my graphics card or what?

Haven't had any problems with the P2 cards, P2 Store (AJ-PCS060G), importing or mounting Volumes (from Camera via FireWire or P2 Store) but did have trouble finding P2 Card Drivers for MacOSX online.

Thanks for any help you can offer,
Mike

Hi, I want to try to help you, but your questions are all over the place man!!

But no problem, here's a question that might help me an others understand your needs a little bit better:

1. What do you want to accomplish with this video? Do you want to screen on theaters ,make media for distribution (TV and/or web audience) or both ?

Part of your answer may be that the new FCP(6) supports multiple formats on one sequence.

Not sure about your playback issues, first thing that comes to mind is that your scratch disck isn't fast enough (or too full) to support the data rate.
