So far, it looks like AbelCine is offering the best price on the HPX500 camera.
• Camera body only (http://www.abelcine.com/store/product.php?productid=1000221&cat=0&page=1)
• Camera with Fuji (2X) CAC lens (http://www.abelcine.com/store/product.php?productid=1000221&cat=331&page=1)

Whoa, there's gotta be a misprint -- body only is $12,500 or you can buy body+four 16GB cards for $13,500? Yowza. That' can't be right... that's a raging steal. You could buy the body and sell a couple of the cards on ebay to subsidize the purchase, if you already had your own lens...

Barry,
Tried a search and no luck... can you use the P&S with the HPX 500...
Thanks...

Yes, you can use the Pro35 which is designed for 2/3" cameras.
Or, you can mount a regular 35mm adapter in front of the lens, provided you can focus that close etc; if you do it that way you can use the LCD's built-in flip function too.

No viewfinder I imagine with that price. Suits me. I've got a spare 2" one sitting here doing nothing.

I think it is standard with the 1 1/2"

At that $13,500 it says it includes VF, tripod plate, and four 16GB cards. Even the "body only" package includes a viewfinder.

That is really cheap. I mean I have an SDX900 and the body only was in the high twenties in the US only three years ago.

SDX900 body-only was $27,000 only a couple of years ago (or so). Now you're getting a high-def variable-frame-rate 2/3" camera including lens, VF, tripod plate, and four 16GB cards all for a total package price of under $20,000.

Great prices to start off. I however wont be jumping in til the end of the year, suits me as I want to see a good range of footage from different lenses. Incidently the best price I have found so far in Japan (based on todays currency rates) is $11047 USD.

So the least expensive out the door with 4 x 16 Gb is about $20K?

The lowest I've seen it from any dealer in the USA (including lens) is about $20k. No battery or charger in that bundle though.
If you have your own lens, Abel appears to be offering it for $13,500 including four 16GB cards, viewfinder and tripod plate.

Just a note Chris, the AJ-HVF21G isn't compatable with the HPX500. I figured that you're planning on getting a VF for your HPX2000. :)
