What are blogs nowadays? The term seems to have been mixed around and has become the definition of anything that's read or played or shown on the internet. It used to be someone keeping an online diary. I don't know what it is anymore. And to be honest, I'm sick of the word.

i hvnt noticed it mixed around really. but what i think is kinda wierder, are people that read blogs, blogs of the average person that is. Like a sportscasters blog on the going arounds of the league, i could see reading that, interesting and on topic, but like Joe Schmoes blog? idunno bout that.

IMHO blogging is the new reality TV. Funnily enough my friend just wondered why her seemingly boring, everyday life posts found such a good reception.
I think it's because people love to see what their peers are getting up to. Raw, uncut and live. Be it just written blogs or audio and video podcasts. The latter being all the rage at the moment.

blog = web log... that's it. it's any site that is updated on a daily-ish basis and contains a lot of information. like an online diary
the term "blog" is applied to anything that consists of the thoughts/writings on one or several people that is updated frequently. as opposed to a news site that only provides news it provides whatever. and all old entries are kept so it's a log.
