OK.... I fell into a little trap I have read about here. You know the one where you start out making a 6 minute film and you end up making something much longer. Well on my first trip out I am guilty. We are all working through to finish so who knows what we will have for the fest... trailer... scene.... short... animation sequence. On the upshot so far this has been one of the greatest times I have ever had doing anything.

Above are some early conceptual drawings done in the second week after the festival was announced. The story was still pretty lose at this point so there is a big difference between what you see here and what you will see in the film.

Originally, I had kicked around three story ideas. Two stories involving senior citizen secret agents and one fantasy story about love, sacrifice and redemption. I went the fantasy route.

Oh great... another entry from that hack that tried to sweep Drama Fest

J/K man...great to see you on board again  I was just asking Brandon the other day if you were in any films this time around. Looking forward to seeing a D.C. original!!

Are those grabs?
Concept art?
Whatever they are I am getting a cool Terry Gilliam vibe from them.
Looking forward to this one.

Hey, I hope this isn't coming too late...from the Official Rules

The central character of all films must be named Rob or Robin.
I read through your character list in the first post and I don't see either name used. Hopefully this is easily rectified, I'd hate to see it disqualified after putting so much effort into it.

And, if I'm just a dork and overlooked the use of the name, then please don't ridicule me too much (I can handle a little, but too much and I'll have to bring the banning police :banned: down on your head  )

The graphics will play a big part in the finished film. The items above are prop pieces. So far I have created over 300 images that will either act as transitions, serve as amination, props and also overlayed visual elemnts to help create the fictional world the story takes place in.

Hey, that all looks super fantastic. Hope you read what Larry R said about the names cause it'll get you disqualified if you ain't got the Rob or the Robin. Good luck gettin' it done. Can't wait.

That's the thing. We did originally have the main character named Robin...but...the production grew in size we had to realistically gage if we were going to be able to have the short completed but the time of the fest. Today, it does not look like we are going to make the deadline with the film that we are shooting. We still may have something to show but if we do it will be non-compete.

Bummer--your film looks like the most original piece of the fest. Hope we can at least see a work in progress at the deadline.

Jub Jub (cool name) and/or David ... sorry to see this didn't get it, but I ditto what others are saying ... would LOVE to at least see the work in progress. Aside from a great actor, you're a darn talented artist as well!

Yeah was looking forward to this one due to the art direction and concept.
But yeah I would love to see what you have, or see it when it is complete
