I realize this is the dvx forums but I was wondering if anyone could help me out with the Canon XL2. I am trying to figure out how to capture with 24p and bring out a beautiful image that is not grainy or pixlized. Does anyone one own one that could give me a tip on what settings to capture on so that it looks amazing?
Thanks Guy!

Light your sets properly and shoot at the right exposure and you won't get much grain... ;)
As for importing 24p footage... Well, framerate shouldn't have anything to do with grain and pixelation. Any commercial NLE should be able to handle XL2 footage flawlessly. I've used Vegas extensively, and it's never given me troubles. All you have to do is make sure your project settings are set to run all video at 24p (which is something like 23.9-- some odd decimals)
As for Premiere, if you start a new project and use the 24p template you're golden.
I don't know how the consumer level editors handle 24p, though, so if that's all you have I can't help you. I would assume Pinnacle, Ulead and the like should be able to handle it.
