Topic: Body Parts
Topic Details: Take a picture where your subject is a body part
NOTES: THIS IS DVXUSER... No Nudity Permitted, Pretty simple, take a picture of a body part.
Details:
I. You may submit a max. of three images
II. All images must be shot during the contest period
III. You may post process in any manner you see fit
IV. All images must be 3MB or smaller

Upload Instructions:
1. Save file as USERNAME_BODY_FILENAME (if you are uploading multiple images please then use USERNAME_BODY_FILENAME1, USERNAME_BODY_FILENAME2, ect.)
2. Type up any txt document describing your image, process, or any information you want
3. Register for the contest at http://www.stffilms.com/dvxuser_photo_contest
4. Upload image and .txt file to http://www.stffilms.com/upload
5. Be patient, I hear it is a virtue...

Thanks dude... you wanna' hear a heartbreaker? I called a friend of mine... you know the kind of friend that always lets you down... but for some reason you always stay friends with 'em?

Well I tell this buddy of mine to come by and shoot a minute or two of BTS... just don't stick around, and DO NOT tell anybody you're there to film me... Get this.

The guy shows up (wow I'm excited)...

Heidi is calling passersby to come in closer... Buddy comes in and gets super-close shots... we got a quarter million dollar set at the south leg of the Arch... and for much of the time I'm 4' away from her... I'm thinking EXCELLENT production reel footage...

The gist is the guy tells me FIRST that he got great footage of me focused with my ENG bag and boom pole... RIGHT NEXT to Klum... Oh... and also that he DID end up talking to some crew member and DOES say that he was there to film me... and they buy his tape off of him for $100. (none of this makes much sense to me as I don't know which parts to believe or not... but in the end it doesn't matter... man... what a bummer.)


Sorry to sidetrack it there... but yeah... I'm beginning to want to take pictures of a body part called my middle finger... Not a nice end to the day... The guy did EVERYTHING I told him NOT to do and got paid $100 to do it. Oh and thanks for making me look good on top of it dude...

Oh and there was this other guy off the boards... that I was going to do sound and assist for... for $250... last night I tell him forget about paying me... the bar wasn't that great and I figured f*ck it... why charge a fellow member that's in from out of town... So yesterday was a long day followed by shooting/sound in a bar from 8p-11:15p... for zero dollars.

Guy says that he wants to get footage of the Arch today... since I had this idea to get some production BTS I also called him this morning... and basically put it out there that I let him off on the tab for my services... and since he was coming there ANYWAY that he could pay back the favor by shooting 2 or 3 MINUTES of BTS for me... he says "yeah no problem"... and uh... naturally he didn't show up either.

I'm thinking "you're welcome".

It's a suck finish to a great day... whatever the opposite of "bitter-sweet" is... I guess it was sweet-bitter.

I may have to pixelate the body part pic that I want to take tonight. :)

OK, hate to say this but I'm out for this round... why? My laptop is waiting to be fixed at the apple store with my images on it, needless to say, I am not a happy camper (I dropped the thing off to have the airport card fixed and didn't think that my image was on that computer).

Honestly, it is a great image and really works on so many levels so it is sort of sad that it is the cheese and stands alone.

That being said, please vote and comment and act as if there are 40 submissions.

This weeks topic is now posted and stuck at the top (contests will be unstuck once the submission deadline ends)

Unfortunately, I had zero time to take any photos either. This week was just too busy to do anything...

And it finally comes out that yes... producers most likely look out for dopes like my friend, who stuck around too long and probably caught some profanity on botched lines... so they offered him $100 for the tape (just for potential PR image control)... and my buddy sold me out for the lousy $100. For my demo reel it would have been nice to have a shot climbing up from my gear, to my face... over to HK surrounded by 4 $100K cameras... *sigh*...

It's okay... I'm sure I'll be 3-7' away from another celebrity such as Heidi K any day now... in my ENG soundrig... uh... excuse me while I puke. :crybaby:


Regarding the contest... I don't want to give away who the winner might be... but I WILL say excellent job Horse... I agree that giving your entry the win by default is an insult because it's good enough that it could have won even with some pretty stiff competition.
