Am I the only one that is having a problem with receiving the P2 Card Rebate? I have been waiting over 12 weeks now. The original terms of the rebate stated that owners of an HVX 200 Camera that was purchase prior to March 31, 2007 would receive a P2 Card valued at $1200, within 6-8 weeks of submitting the proper claim.
I submitted the claim properly with the right documentation, the rebate company which is a 3rd party company, has received it and confirmed it. Yet no P2 Card? I have contacted them and they tell me that Panasonic has told them they are backordered. I have purchased 5 cards, the first 2 cost me $1300 , the next 2 cost me $850 and the last one cost me $690. This of course due to the price dropping. So the $1200 valued rebate is now worth less than $700 since Panasonic is not complying with the terms of the rebate. I feel that Panasonic should provide me with either the rebate worth the original $1200, in P2 cards, or a check for the $1200.

The rebate company states that Panasonic is on backorder. But the sales guys at NAB in vegas state that it is not true. Every Panasonic reseller has them in stock. I have filed with complaints.com and also with the BBB and if I dont hear from them, I will be seeking a small claims court action, in NYC against Panasonic, and the rebate company. I would like to hear from others having this problem. I love the product, but have never heard of such a problem with a rebate.

PM Jan Crittenden. She's been very helpful on this issue.

I don't think you'll get very far on the $1200 claim with small claims, since it's generally known that the value of memory has typically decreased over time, and it's been rumored for months that the 16gig card would be released sometime this spring, therefore, one could reasonably expect the 4 gig and 8 gig cards would be decreasing in price. And the rebate was not for a specific value, but for a P2 card, so since they're fulfilling the terms of the rebate, you won't really have a case.

Hmmmm, it's almost as if the rebate company is delaying shipping you the p2 card and waiting for the price drop to happen so that they can get credit with Panasonic for the difference......

I just got mine - FINALLY - and it took just about the full 12 weeks.

I also received my DVX rebate which I mailed in on the same date.

Small claims is a waste of time and money since it's basically impossible to collect on a small claims judgement unless someone pays it voluntarily, but if they're willing to do that, you wouldn't have had to sue in the first place.

Sorry, but this is silly. If the rebate company isn't shipping it is because they don't have them. If they don't have them, we don't have them. When we have them, they will have them. All legit claims will be filled. In the meantime, make sure that you have sent in the documentation that is requested. Wehn the cards come in we will send to the rebate company. If they have received your backup documentation, you will be shipped. If not, then they will continue to wait for your documentation. They cannot ship without the competed documentation.

Best,

Jan

Hi,

Don't know who you talked to on the floor but I know of no dealer that has them in stock including B & H. We don't even have them in stock.

And as far as that small claim issue I think if you get somewhere with it I will take it up with my SD memory cards. I have a 64MB that cost me $85, one that cost me $52, and another that cost me $29.95, and three weeks ago I bought an 1GB for $39.95. Who do I complain to? It is Moore's Law in action. In reality I am delighted that it has come down and will continue this trend.

Best,

Jan
