It would be nice if someone with a little knowledge could create a firmware update that would allow us to turn off the gain. I was at Best Buy today while waiting for the ferry to go. The Everio has an option buried in the menu to turn off the gain.
Other than the gain issue I really like this little camera for what it is.
What is the program language in this camera? Or is it something Canon concocted themselves? I'd pay $50 for a firmware upgrade. To be honest I would be more likely to pay Reel Stream to hack this little camera for it's sensor that a $5000 HVX.
Just a thought,
Jay
PS: I really don't want this thread to turn into a wish list. That would be a waste of bandwidth and time. I was just thinking there are some pretty connected if not brilliant people on this forum. A hack such as that might be quick, or a slight less than quick, what ever you would call that.
