Concerning download times:

I can download 8 gig cards via my laptops pcmcia slot in 4-5 minutes per card. So, probably 8-10 minutes for a 16 gigger.

Wouldn't it still be easier and cheaper to just buy a Firestore to use with an HVX rather than lots of p2 cards?

Not everybody needs a firestore. Not everyone needs "lots" of p2 cards. People have different workflows. 2 16gig cards per cam is pretty sweet for me for most applications.

Im longing for the day I will have Final Cut Studio 6, my Mac Pro & my Hydra modded HVX.

Wow...wow. I am so freakin happy right now. I was reading whispers of a $1600 price tag, which would have steered me to buy several more 8gb cards. Man, a good day to check the forum. Sony announces their new solid state variable frame rate camera, and a $900 price tag for 16gb P2. I wonder if the 2 announcements have anything to do with each other.
