The fact that no one has yet to say that use it, is starting to make me think that this is a pretty shady place...any last comments?

Looking at the site and the articles that they highlight, (including the JL and BG article, where the 100A was less than a year old) some things seem a bit dated.
I was looking through all the course topics, and it seems like they do discuss a lot. For 50 dollars it might be a good resource where you are able to read up about any of these topics at one location on the web.
That being said, this is the internet, i think if you were to throw any of those topics listed into a google search, you would probably come up with the same information at a free website.
The sample lessons seem to confirm this thought. It seems that it is for the extreme basic of knowledge. Which I'm not saying its only for basic knowledge needing people, but this information should be able to be found outside this site for free.
Infact i believe you have found a great resource already with the dvxuser site. Besure to check out all of the cinematog, directing, lighting, sound sections where you can find a lot of this information, and if you can't find anything, you can always ask and get an answer in minutes.
To recap, if you are looking for a single place to go to to find all this information (without having to spend a little time searching through google for it) this might be a good deal for 50 dollars. Especially if books arn't your style.
Hope that helps.

hmmm...I wasn't able to find much good info on many of the topics discussesed. Especially the less technical topics. Do you have any links of examples of these free articles you speak of?

pay a stranger $50 to act for you for a couple of hours... you'll get alot of schooling :) Joking... Really though... I've learned the most by just doing it and from hands on experience. Check out my sig link below... it's first semester stuff but it's free. Lemme know what you think.

yeah, I was actually going to sign up for this, the complete package that is, it isn't worth it. Like someone else said, EVERY article is on google, and Ive done the research to know. Just type in what you want, and itll pop up.

I think they have a podcast floating around on iTunes somewhere. From what I remember, they were worth listing to (great teaser info to get you over to their website). You may want to check that out.
I'm with Mindzeye "hands on experience" and net surfing go a long way.
With that said... 50 bucks is pretty cheap for someone doing all that work to gather, organize and present the information on one website.
BTW Mindzeye, I checked out your ebook... great stuff!
