If anyone has a chance to head over to Thompson/GV's booth, they are supposed to be showing off v4.5. I would love any details on EDIUS that anyone can find out.
Thanks,
Jason

Hello Jason,
We are one of the Desktop Solution Dealers for GV/Canopus. We will spending a good bit of time with them at the show and at some other dealer meetings. I'll get the whole scoop and mabye even some promo material for everybody.
Best regards,
Andrfew Hoffman

Also just saw that v4.24 update is on the download page too. :) Nice. Maybe some nice bug fixes, finally. Haven't had a chance to look yet.

Better built in DVD authoring looks welcome. And it mentiones 4.5 is a free update!

Yeah. That is nice indeed. Talk about doing it right. I downloaded 4.24 The look has changed ever so subtley. Fonts are different. Procoder looks different. Haven't had a chance to see if 720p live capture, or the problems I have with procoder crashing when doing dvd or mpeg2 renders, etc. Didn't see mention of it in documentation though.
Looking forward to 4.5. Looks like it will be a nice taste of what we can expect in version 5. Hopefuly GV continues the 'legacy' of EDIUS. Support every format, and do it in realtime. Hopefuly they won't go the way of another NLE bought out by another company, in that regard.

why the heck does grass valley STILL have the canopus name on the website? \
Anyway I saw the 4.5 in action at NAB. I loved to new interface changes. I'm hoping the problems with p2 in 720p mode are resolved. I read somewhere on their website though that 720 format editing of native p2 footage was only available in a "turnkey" system. hmmm.
