Hi there,

I've got a quick question, I'm doing a greenscreen shoot on Sunday. I believe the HVX works best with a lower detail level (approx -3) for keying, but I've just checked the settings and there seem to be three detail settings:

Detail Level
V Detail Level
Detail Coring

Should these all be about -3?

Many thanks for any advice
Regards
Jon

There's at least one other thread, not that old, started here:

Oh yeah sorry, I started that thread, but I didnt discuss the V Detail level or Detail Coring settings, all too complicated for me!

Cheers

The Coring only comes into play with higher detail numbers so its irrelevant for you.
My suggestion would be to leave the vertical deatial @ 0 if you are already lowering regular detail.
Jim Arthurs who does alot of this also recommends setting the green levels as high as 65IRE for the HVX. I would definitely go at least to 55.

I shoot my greenscreen stuff in DVCPRO50 with the detail level at -3 and vertical detail at 0 and it keys right out using the stock FCP chroma key filter.
