I've done a search and can't find a specific answer to this question. Will P2 cards from the US work in a Pal (UK) HVX200?

Hey man,
DONT DO THIS!
This will break your HVX, your Warranty and maybe you will loose your life!

Sorry, i knwo this is bad, but i couldnt resist..!
You can definitly use a P2 card from wherever you like, i guess that there is not even a difference in the brochures inside the bix (my guess is that ALL the P2 cards come from Japan and then go to the States and Europe...).

I personally worked with cards i had from Japan and the Statesm like i told you-no problems.
Just keep in mind how you wanna order them, if you receive them from the States, you will have to pay the Irish VAT on top of it...and you wount have a warrenty here in Europe...!

Good Luck

I'm using 8GB cards bought from B&H in New York (for fraction of UK price btw) in my PAL HVX - never even thought there would be a problem, naive as I am. But don't see why there should be - it'd be like using region-specific CompactFlash cards in digital cameras.

I saw just after I posted this that Panisonic Europe has reduced 8GB P2 cards to 545 euros from April 2nd 2007. I'm still not seeing this on UK stores tho... hence I was thinking of buying from the US
