View Full Version : Trippin down still road
I am really having fun with my new DSLR. I've owned it for 6 months and it rarely leaves my side. So...I thought for those of you who don't see any of my stuff anymore (Due to no website just now) I'd throw up a link to my tagworld/photography sit for you to check. The Camera is a 6 month old Olympus e-volt 500...Cheers

PS I would Never use my real name in a public forum because I'm weird like that.

Well sir... I'm officially ready for bed. I couldn't sleep tonight because I was inspired for photoshop... your pictures just reminded me of something that was driving me NUTS about 9 months ago... something I never did figure out... and rather then launch back into photoshop I just got that overwhelming feeling of tired.
Those are some fantastic pics man... I want to call you by the name on that link now... it's a subconscious thing now that you said it.
Oh... what's driving me nuts? The "normal rockwell" stylized painted shots! There was a guy over at dpreview that had a thread called "not for purists"... I still remember the thread title... because when I opened it up my jaw dropped and I thought, "I GOTTA figure out how to do that!"
Unfortunately I never did... and I can see from your pics that you pretty much figured it out.
Doesn't somebody have an ACTION for that by now? Aarrrgh... I'll be having nightmares about that technique again. Believe it or not that's a compliment...
Hey Matt, the process is very simple once you get your paws on Photomatix. There is very little to figure out. Most of what I throw up on my tagworld page is just sort of point and shoot and hope for good shot work. The trick it seems to me with hdri, is to know when to apply it, and how much to apply to simply enhance the image rather than use it to make the image. I am working hard to know the difference:) I have used hdri on shots that otherwise were destined to be deleted but the high dynamic range process seemed to make them worthy of display.
