Ok, here's the rundown. As of right now, I'm a broke film student. I'm going to get an apple setup to edit with in the near future, but for right now I've got a project going on (helping my girlfriend with her class).

She's reading "Frankenstein" and they need to do a scene from the book. It doesnt need to look perfect, so I'm going to edit it on Windows Movie Maker. BUT, I'm having trouble getting the footage from my camera (100B) to the editor? When I try, it will only let me use my camera like a webcam and film what the camera sees? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong or how to fix it?

ALSO, I need to burn this onto a DVD for her class to watch. Can anyone give me a quick run down on what I need to do to get this on a DVD? I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 with a DVD burner. Thank you guys, so much!! :dankk2:

Do you have your camera switched to vtr?

If your comp has a burner, it probably means that it has a basic dvd burning program too, which usually means you have to capture your video with that program.

So when you say "capture with that program" do you mean, I have to use it like a webcam and save the video in that program like I just did with WMM?

And VTR? I hit the record and it recorded to my tape. Then I went and connected my firewire, opened WMM when it asked what I wanted to use and it would only let me use it like a webcam. I'm wanting to take the footage that I just recorded before I plugged it in and put it on the computer. Thanks!

On the back of the camera, there should be a little button that says "CAMERA" and "VTR" next to it, with little lights. What you're seeing now should be that the light next to CAMERA is on (IIRC, it's green). When you push that button, the light next to VTR should light up (again IIRC, it's red). That puts you in VTR mode, where you can play the tape back and watch it on the LCD, or capture via Firewire to your computer.

A little off topic, but how do I get my camera to shoot in black and white mode?

Shoot in color and then adjust the color in post with a desaturate filter
