Has anyone out there ever used the DVX100A for a web cast? I'm very unfamiliar with the unit but was curious to know if it would be functional. I'd appreciate any comments.

I have yet to use it for a web cast, but I don't really see how you would have any problems. In all honesty you could really use any camcorder to do a web cast, it all pretty much depends a lot on your export settings from FCP or Vegas, whatever you're using. The most important thing to look out for is bit rate, if you wanna maximize quality and download times try and find use a good quality codec, MPEG 4 for example, and up the bit rate to something your server can handle.
Just curious but are you talking about a direct streaming web cast or something like a podcast. This could change my explanation completely.
