Hi guys. I have a problem with my Sony HVR-V1E. All of a sudden the tape timecode, the battery data, and the rec format info disappeared from the viewfinder/LCD screen. The footage is recorded anyway, but no info is showed. The info still on screen are the audio levels and the cam data display (shutter, white balance and so on, the bottom part of the screen), but the data that should be on the top of the screen are not there anymore, with the exception of the REC/STANDBY indicator. Of course I searched the manual and the menu for the proper setting, and I've shut on and off the audio and camera data with their proper menu settings, then I looked for Display Set/Remaining and it was on ON, not Automatic, so the camera should show me the missing data, but NO!!! I also thought the fault might be the lack of communication between the camera and battery, so I tried with other two batts, with no good results. The odd thing is that when I surf the menu for whatever setting I may change, the missing info appear, and then when I exit the menu, those data are not there anymore. It's somewhat frustrating, because it seems the camera is fooling me... Help, please. It seems from this forum I'm not the only one to experience problems of some kind with this camera... Damn Sony Corporation! Thanks.

There's a Display button on the inside of the flipout LCD. Push it a couple times, and your info should be back :)
