Sony V1U losing settings

Hey guys I was wondering if someone could shed some light on an issue I am having with my V1. Everytime I switch to a different battery while shooting in the field, it forgets all my time/date, whitebalance, shutter speed, and gain settings. Is there a way to tell if my internal battery is bad or to reset the system in the camera somehow?

I have been digging throgh my manual and haven't found anything.
