Ive looked everywhere on the forums but im stumped.
I have finnaly got a P2 card for my hvx202en. All i want to do is move the MXF files from P2 card to my computer.....
I have tried firewire and usb.2 and my computer doesnt seem anything.
i have tried to put my P2 drivers on the computer but It seems to miss a step....
Theres a part where it asks to selcect the driver need.... I select all and it then goes threw each one not allowing me to install....
I need help with a guide threw as I have either not set up my HVX to export or sometings wrong on my computer.
I also have windows vista on my laptop and only an hour after taking it out of the box have disco\vered Vista doesnt allow captuer.......
Is there a easy run threw page here or something???
My home PC is win xp with 2 gigs of memory and running HT 2.8 P4

The only drivers you should select are those that you will use. If you ask the installer to install the PCMCIA/PCCard drivers and don't have such a slot in your system, I'm not sure what will happen, so why risk problems?
Anyway, install only the USB drivers for the camera. During the installation process, you will be required to put the camera into MCR mode by pressing the MODE button, then hold down the MODE button for two more seconds to allow the USB connection to be made, and finally you will have to insert a P2 card into the camera slot(s) you want the drivers to be installed for.

It's the only one that says HVX and USB. There is only one choice...look closely. I just wnet through this. It is all in the manual.

None of the P2 software is tested with Vista.
Stick to your XP machine. Install the software for the PC.
Read the manual and go step by step, it can be confusing.
Only USB from the camera works with PC. Firewire is for the MAC.

Great thanks again guys,
I am still having a problem though.... I have connected the USB ( for PC only ) and during the P2 driver instilation a message :
This installer will install AG-HVX200 (P2 handheld) USB driver. Please connect AG-HVX200 (P2 handheld) by USB2.0.
No I have connected the camera via USB 2 and I have turned the camera on.... However it appears the computer doesnt reconise its connected as it wont allow me to press the Install button.... Ive read threw the P2 instalation booklet that came with the camera and I havent missed any steps....
Any ideas?

I'm having same problem. I see same message: "This installer will install AG-HVX200 (P2 handheld) USB driver. Please connect AG-HVX200 (P2 handheld) by USB2.0."
BUT I DO have USB connected in PC mode on the camera. Held it down for three seconds...the little orange light comes on (next to the PC mode).
It blinks "USB DEVICE" for a few seconds...and then the words "USB DEVICE DISCONNECT" appear in place of "USB DEVICE"
When I unplug--and then replug--USB camera end of cable, a yellow balloon pops up on my desktop that says "USB Device Not Recognized. One of the USB devices
attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."
Can someone please advice.
Thanks much in advance...
Mike

The balloon message you are seeing is normal if the driver is not installed, so let's ignore that for the time being.
Are you connecting the camera directly to your computer, or to a hub? If it is a hub, what else is connected to it (mouse, keyboard, webcam, printer etc.)? Have you tried another USB port on your computer?

And this is a USB2, not USB1 connection?

That's what I'm trying to figure out -- a USB 2.0 port can revert to USB 1.1 speeds if it is forced to share the connection with low-speed devices like mice or keyboards. Also, many older PCs just had USB 1.1 ports for the easily accessible ports on the front of the chassis, and USB 2.0 ports in the back.
A USB 1.1 port (or a USB 2.0 port forced to run as a USB 1.1 port) will not work with the HVX.

Yep. I was trying to plug staight into the computer's front USB port--and it wouldn't work. THEN...I just plugged HVX's USB cable into a 4-port hub...and it worked fine.
Thanks so much, guys for taking the time to respond to my silly little issue!
