View Full Version : How do I Sync Timecode in P2 mode?

Previously when shooting to tape, I was able to jam sync timecode with a firewire cable to each camera and multi-cam edit the footage in post with FCP. Now I have 4 firestores and would like to do the same thing in HD.

The HVX does not allow us to sync timecode in P2 Mode and we forced to switch back to tape mode, sync timecode, and reset the cameras back to P2 mode. When we do this, all the cameras are off about 10-20 frames from each other I guess from the numerous amounts of time that the camera needs to be powered off and on again while switching from P2 to tape mode annd back again.

How do I jam sync timecode while in P2 Mode? Are one or some of my settings wrong?

You can sync the cameras in P2 mode as long as all of them are set for the same non-native recording mode. In PN (native) modes, no data goes out the DV port, so you can't sync.
