Hello all!

I have been surfing through mountains of forums and users groups, as well as manufactures websites looking for answers that I can’t seem to locate. Thus I beg of your knowledge and wisdom to lead me to the right answers.

We are a small post production company located in Scottsdale, AZ, and some of our clients are shooting on P2. I have figured out how to transfer the media from the p2 cards and the client’s hard drives to a workspace on our unity.

What I am being tasked with is to find a way for the shooter to make good clips so only those are ingested into the AVID.

Next, is there an easy way to burn a window code DVD for clients to pick their selects to save time in the edit bay.

And lastly, once we have mastered the sequence what is the best way to export to dub the project out to DVD, DVCam and/or Beta SP.

We have Sony DSR-25 and UVW-1800 decks as well as a Pioneer PRV-LX1 that we use to output the final projects on. We are running Media Composer 2.6.4 on 2-Adrinelines (HP 8000) and 1-MoJo (soft only on HP 8400). The 8400 has Avid Studio Toolkit with Avid DVD that we can use to author. We currently use Sorenson Squeeze 4.5.5 to encode with.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Dan Montgomery

To sort between good and bad clips to ingest, let the shooter use the P2 Viewer software to copy clips from a card to a virtual P2 card on a harddisk( see P2 viewer manual or this forum for more info on virtual P2 cards).
