Hello,

I made a videoclip with the Panasonic HVX200 camera with the help of a FS-100. I editted it in FCP.

The footage is shot in 1080i, what is the best render settings in therms of.

Pixel ratio
Upper fields/ Lower fields or Off.
And the frame rate.

My frame rate setting are now 24fps, but im gonna play it on TV and thats 25fps. How does this work?.

And in Holland there is not much HD broadcasting, so what are the best render setting to get it on a dvcam tape.

I just have started to learn about this camera, so please PLEASE HELP ME OUT.....

If you are referring to an export, just export QT/Current Settings/Audio and video.

Otherwise, explain whether this is going to tape with what deck

Hello,

I made a export with the current settings mode in FCP, and imported it in After Effects.
There i used a 24 fps composition. But i dont know what i must use with the pixel ratio and the upper or lower fields first.

And my second question is, With export settings is must use, when i want to convert it to 16:9 dv pal for tvs that dont have HD. Because i think that when you use the 1080i export, it wont work on a regular tv without HD.

Is there a export tutorial where you can see the different export settings.

Many thanx for replying.

Hi Kaak,

for the settiing in FCP you just use the 1080i preset (but how come did you shot in 24p as in Pal we do 25p or 50i in 1080 format? You've used a US HVX I guess...).
Anyway you can use Compressor that has a collection of presets to Convert between formats.

You can also search in this forum for " downconverting ", or Ken stone site.

Kaak,
Keep in mind that when in After Effects, you can drag your clip to the "new composition" icon and it will create the composition based on the clips settings. Thatt way, you don't have to worry about the correct comp setting. Remember, you have to export the clip with the correct settings so that After Effects will set the correct settings.

Good luck!
