I'm shooting a short film in two weeks that will be handed out as promotional DVDs for my prod co. I have access to a free HL-H1 with a wide angle attachment as well as the DVX-100B. Unfortunately, I don't have time to test both units head-to-head in 480P, though I've shot independently with both on various occasions. My questions are as follows:
1) At Standard Definition, which camera renders an image more free of artifacts like aliasing and macro-blocking?
2) Would the XL-H1 render the cleaner image if shot in 1080 and down-scaled to 480 in Final Cut Pro?
3) Would the HL-H1 look better (in general) if shot natively in 480, rather than down-scaled in post?
4) Would there be a clear advantage on DVD when using one camera over the other? I've only shot HD with the Canon, though I've made two shorts with the DVX.
Thanks
