After playing with minimal dof (open iris, not enough light...you know the drill) and getting a little frustrated with not being able to nail focus, I decide to do a little research. My aim is to understand what my lighting requirements will be from shoot to shoot. So I came across this...

My question is this - what CoC figure is relevant for these adapters? The calculator has 35mm film at .03, though a DSLR (Nikon d50, eg) at .02.
When shooting a subject at 3 feet with a 50mm lens and at f1.8, admittedly there ain't much difference between a dof of 3cm and 2.5cm :). Interesting though how dof increases significantly when you increase subject distance. With the same variables above, but with the subject distance at 6 feet, dof is 14cm or 10cm.
Cheers,
Steve
