View Full Version : Help! The tape is only showing blue in playback

Hi, I recorded a fashion show last evening and then I went to play the footage back on my 100b and it was only showing a blue screen. From time to time I would see flashes of images I recorded but only on the left side of the screen. I don't know what is happening. Can anyone help?

Most likely the heads are "dirty". You're footage may be just fine. Clean the heads and check it again.

I have tried other tapes and they are fine. Also the camera is less than a month old. Is really possible the heads are dirty?

Its very possible that heads on a new cam could need a clean, a quick 5 second run of the head cleaner is about all thats needed.
As your cam is playing other tapes fine Im not sure its that however. Sounds like a bad tape. I can only suggest trying to get the tape in another camera to see if the footage is readable by another tape head.
