I need to take photos of a research lab and have a greenscreened guy in front of it, probably waist up, talking to the audience.

Are there any techniques to make sure that the perspective of both matches, so the composition looks believable? Is it better to match a background photo to an existing greenscreen shot, or vice versa? Or is the best approach to shoot lots of stills with various camera heights, angles, etc. and try them all in post?

better to shoot the room first and study the lighting and apply that same lighting to your greenscreen shoot. Shoot both photos at the same focal length. Then the last thing you need to worry about is blurring out the background to get a believable DOF this can be done in post or when you are taking the first photo. For best results do it when taking the first photo but you are risking messing up and having it too blurred.

Thanks! What about matching the angles of the bkgr and the person?

you don't need ot match angles but you might want to consider what direction your talent will be standing in relation to the background
