I just got my HVX back today after it sat over at Panasonic for a week and a half waiting for parts. I went over there because of the digital dropouts I was getting from footage just shot. That means it hadn't even gotten near a Mac or whatever to mess up the clips like some people here say happens. I haven't gotten a chance to see if replacing the P2 slot assembly fixed the problem. But I sure hope it did. The thing that bothers me the most is that I've had my HVX for almost a year and this started happening a couple months ago. I've never dropped my HVX or roughed it around for talking back to me. So what could have caused this problem to happen.
I even left the P2 cards there so they could look at them and some of the sample footage that had the digital dropouts in it. The guys at Panasonic were unable to duplicate the digital dropouts, which doesn't surprised me because it seems to just happen randomly in the #2 slot.
So if people are getting digital dropouts in their footage before they transfer the files this might be the problem. Also now I'm going to start "Checking the Gate" as it were to make sure the clips I just shot are okay.
