I put one of my 1GB cards into my D50 and it says CHR on it and it won't format it or take pictures. What's going on?

Do you have the protect tab flicked on the card?
You might want to try to format the card in a card reader, but sounds weird.

Nope, protect isn't on. I put the card in my card reader and my comp. isn't recognizing it! :(
