Does anyone know how to un-mute the audio playback on a firestore?

Do you mean in camera?

I believe the manual indicates that it is muted in camera

"Audio is Muted During DVCPROHD 720 PN Playback
The audio is recorded. The LCD’s playback screen displays AUDIO MUTE."
