This may sound stupid but, i have just bought my DVX and i am expecting it in a week or so. I am 18 and a large purchase like that always makes me doubt whether i made the correct choice. so my question is do any of you feel that maybe you made the wrong cam choice or should i be super excited for my DVX experience?

Not a stupid question at all. This was a huge purchase for many of us as well, and it's always fun to torture yourself with doubts about a big purchase like this.

But I think you've made an excellent choice. I know that I'm really happy with my DVX. Sure, I would like to eventually get an HD camera, and I realize that the market is demanding that more and more these days. But in the meantime, I'm still learning about the whole process and art of making good videos, and there is a whole lot that goes into a good video besides pixels alone.

The DVX is an amazing camera that just a couple of years ago had even the seasoned professionals on this board jumping for joy (how do you think they came to this board in the first place?). There is so much you can do with it and so much you can learn from doing it.

If I were eighteen and the owner of a DVX, I would be super excited, and you should be too.

DUDE........ YOu are so Friggin lucky to be 18 and have this camera and a computer and be able to do the things that it took a million bucks to do in Hollywood only 15 years ago. You will love the Camera,,,,,,hell i have purchased 3 of them and I know I won't be going HD for at least 3 more years.....so DVX all the way

I just purchased my DVX, I got it through a close friend who is a manager at 6th ave electronics. He gave it to me for a good price and ordered it through his guy @ Panasonic. It came all brand new (Or so I though) When I started to really inspect the camera when I got home, I noticed a thin hairline scratch along the outside of the lcd display about 3 inches long. I decided to go over the whole camera and found another deep scratch underneath and then the sticker under the eye piece seems like someone put a sticker on it before or something, I checked the metal piece where you can put a light on cause that would def. give it away if it was used and there are slight small scuff marks. So I called my guy up and told him how upset I was that this camera had to be either refurbished or used and he told me to bring it back as soon as I can and he'll get me another camera. With that being said, I only have the camera for 3 days now and for the limited amount of time I have with it IM LOVING IT SO FAR! What got me is the meter count is at 00:00:00 but I've heard replacing the heads might reset the usage meter, is that true?
