I have written three scripts that are available for dvxuser members to use for SpyFest.
About myself: I'm a graduate from Boston University with a B.S. in Film and Broadcasting. I have served as a script-reader for Shoreline Entertainment. I am currently writing supplemental material on a project for a dvxuser member. I have written some material for websites.
About you: you can't write, don't want to write, or can't come up with a good idea for SpyFest.
All the scripts are original material and written to conform with Spyfest rules---all have the central character named Rob or Robin, are 5-6 pages long, and are R rating or below. Sorry, no hard-core pornography.
Additionally, they are written for locations and actors that you can get without massive set construction or spending a bundle. Basically they are generic locations like an office, a bedroom, street exteriors, etc. Also for the most part they don't rely on monstrously complicated special-effects, although you can get incredibly creative with them (views through binoculars and cameras, inserts and superimpositions, etc).
Here are descriptions of the scripts:
THE CHEATER - A private investigator is assigned to follow a husband suspected of cheating on his wife, but he finds out more than he bargained for. 5 pages. Dramatic, dry-humor.
ROBIN THE SPY - A bumbling spy takes on his first mission. 5 pages. Slapstick comedy, lots of fun with the name Robin. Does have a couple of special effects, gas exploding from a pen, a gunshot, but nothing extreme.
SPYING FOR FUN AND PROFIT - How the average guy on the street can use spy techniques. 6 pages. Mockumentary, explores a guy using pretexting/social engineering to get information and products. Breaks the fourth wall. * UPDATE - SPYING FOR FUN AND PROFIT NO LONGER AVAILABLE - IN DEVELOPMENT * 3/06/07 8:57 PM PST*Contact me through PM if you'd like to review the scripts for your possible use and I will email them to you promptly. After reading, if you'd like to make one of these scripts into an entry for SpyFest, it's yours for your exclusive use.
I'm happy to give them to you for free. You agree to make a good-faith effort to get the entry made, give me screen credit, and if you ever win a prize or otherwise get any money from the production of one of these scripts, you agree to give me a little taste. But basically I'm interested in seeing as many of them as possible made, I don't care about getting any money for these, I simply want to participate in SpyFest, just like you!
Also, if you have a concept you'd like developed into a script, contact me, I'll be happy to give it a whirl.
Please don't hesitate to contact me to review these scripts. They're for you! Should they be claimed by dvxusers, I'll update this thread to indicate which are still available.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with them!
Thanks,
John LaBonney
