I just visited your website. NICE stuff. Good work, bro.

Thank you robert! You too have some wonderful stuff in the works. I really enjoyed "Expired". Makes me want to go out and order something like that. :)

EXIRED is an interesting film. It was made under the Project Greenlight guidelines. Three minute limit. THREE! The version on my site is a little longer. While my experience with PGL was horrid, I really love that little film.

The music is from "Meet Joe Black" which is one of Thomas Newman's best scores. I'm really into Thomas Newman, Thomas Newton Howard and Harry Gregson-Williams right now. All three are doing some great scores. Graeme Revell too.

Justin's the man ... anything the guy does is pure gold! If a filmmaker submits their film with canned music when they could have had it custom .... well, why the heck would someone ever want to do THAT?!

hehehe ;) thanks guys!

Yea, there's sooooo many composers out here looking for work. If you need direction for your film or would like to a certain style, come talk to me. Not too many composers are forum savvy or are hidden amongst the others so I'll do what I can to find whatever style you are looking for and pass the word along.

Especially since this contest has just opened up to all cameras.

happy hunting!

Edgen, I would love to use you for my next film. I'm getting a new camera and I just finished using some of your music for a new short that I did.

I've also used your music in the past, with your permission.

I only have 3 shorts under my belt though...

I'm looking to making my own film this round, so hopefully I'll be submitting as well. *crosses fingers*

Looking forward to that! The good thing is that you don't have to tell the director to stop changing the pacing of the edit :D

Exactly. Stupid directors.

At least if I funct up, i'll have no one to blame but myself. I'm telling you... come up with an original idea for a spy film is friggin' hard. I'm just gonna have to spend more time out at the pool.

I may just go with a silent film. Perhaps a comedy? You shall see....

Well... I am going to give credit where credit is due, that one evening we brainstormed you came up with some GREAT additions to Dead Drop.

LOL. The main concept of our film came to me while in the bathroom at LAX. The rest was later finalized while running on the treadmill at the gym.

hehe - well, most directors/editors keep changing the pacing.

Most viewers are not aware that if pacing gets screwed up, it's often the composer who has to save the scene. :D

just call us composers.... *dum dumn dunnn* "THE MANIPULATORS".

muahahahahaha

most editors have a natural pacing. Sometimes hits just land where they shouldn't. Some are all over the friggin' place.

Spencer.. You got it man! Just let me know when you've got a film shot. Just don't wait till the last second again. :)

Marlon.. You got it too! I'd love to see what your wild imagination comes up with.

With all these entries, hell, I dunno if I'll have time to even do my own. no. wait. I will have time!! STill trying to come up with an idea. SOooo many good ones. But, finding locations is the issue. grr. maybe I'll just find a Refridgerator box and film it in there. That would be awesome! I'll call it, "Spy Bums"

I'd say you better, but then id sound like a mean lil bully. You really should though. Brown Waters was an awesome short with tonnes of talent.

Hope you can find the time to put yourself first to...

Edgen
03-07-2007, 06:32 PM
I think I can do it. Lately, i've been busting out 5-7 minute films in one night with a day or so for re-writes, so I definitely thinking I'm getting better. Then again, I'm going to be my own worst critic for my entry. We shallll see!

time to go off and meditate in the lushness of my backyard with the sweet sound of the mechanical ocean rushing through (the 134/170 freeways) and formulate a oscar winning spyfest script...

If anyone is in the LA area and would like to help.. I'm game. What else would I rather do? Watch TV?
