... The working title for my short right now is : "Dead Drop"
Now THAT'S a great title, Brandon.

If you don't use it, can I steal it?

(but I hope you use it)

Hm. which pic? OH! The location. right. Well, the story has taken a lot of different forms, so I don't even know if I'll shoot there by the time I am finished with the script.

Are you talking about that desert location? The one where you drove your car off that cliff :)

I think I had ONE fest thread opened, during Horror-Fest, and didn't make it. Can't use me as an example, fella.

If you're gonna start a thread, you better make a movie :) Otherwise, you could just hold off on starting a thread until you know for sure you are going to get one done:thumbsup:

See, the thread motivates me... I know, lame, but it does.

Brandon Rice

No news on when we'll shoot, which is kind of what I am waiting on now.

Good luck , Brandon.

Regardless of how many threads you start or nix, your work ethic is impressive.

Yours will be one of the few i'll make sure to check out.

I'm confident enough on B-Man, so I'm gonna place a $50 bet that he makes his film within the deadline rules.

hey B-man, I can't help but chuckle at some of the comments here on your thread... funny stuff!

I am sure that no matter what happens, you'll be an instrumental part of the festival! Best to you.

How was the premiere of SR? I haven't been on much lately.

I'm looking for some local LA people who'd be willing to help me out with my one day spyfest shoot. Larry_R has written a great script, and I'm working on casting the three remaining people for the short. It'll be a one day shoot in two weekends (tenative) what I need help with most is sound at the moment. Please PM me if you can or want to help out, thanks!

We also have our title locked as well.

I had an idea a couple days ago, ran it by Brandon and he liked it. Then I sat down to write it, I got as far as FADE IN: and then drew a total blank. I couldn't think of ONE SINGLE WORD to write.

I was frustrated and told Brandon about it. While telling him, I decided it was silly and that I was going to force myself to start writing, I thought whatever came out could be fixed later.

So, yesterday I saw an image in my head of the opening location and wrote a single line sentence that described that location....3 pages later I looked at the clock and it was time to go home. :)

Today I sat down and quite easily turned out an additional 5 pages and sent the whole thing to Brandon. He liked it, so I thought I might be onto something. About 30 minutes later I finally opened it up and read it (I hadn't read any of it yet)...and you know what? I actually like it

Should be a fun flick. It was written as a short story with limited shooting time, limited location/cast/crew. The story fit the constraints, so I think it will come out really well....I hope so anyway

Brandon Rice

Thanks for the insight on that Larry! I really think we have a fun tight little story, and I want to have a showcase for some specific actors as well :) should be good!

UPDATE:
Working on finishing up casting... need some people for crew as well... script is nearly locked.

We're shooting this thing HD.

UPDATE:

Next five weekends are jam packed, so it looks like either I'll scramble at the last possible moment in May and get it shot, or else I'll end up shooting it in June, just as a standalone short or something... either way, I'm gunna do this one, as I like the script a lot and want to have a "showcase" piece for my little brother.

Count the cost to building a house before you lay the foundation.

Brandon Rice
04-18-2007, 10:52 AM
Right... well, it won't cost too much actually... plus I don't mind putting these side projects on hold for a bit, as long as I am actually shooting other stuff.

Charli

Brandon, you missed the meaning of the phrase, but that's okay, good luck on whatever you are working on.
