Aaron, awesome poster. Is that something you specifically shot for this film or a photograph you already had that highlights the mood/tone of your story? Either way, I like it. Looking forward to your film.

Thanks Jeremy!

No, it's not going to be a period piece. It will have elements from past eras, but no date stamp. Imagine a different planet with a near parallel existence. The core of how the world develops is the same as our universe. None of this will be featured in the film of course. It's good to fabricate a back story and universal emotional atmosphere for the characters to live in.

Edgen - ha! I can see the similarities. I didn't have it in mind at all, but great minds think alike. :)

I love that poster, man I have to figure out how to make one. Good luck with the film, sounds interesting and your lead female has quite a sinister look.

Yes, Vessy does have a very sinister look. Her character will be the "femme fatale". I'm glad you could already start to absorb that feeling.

I could help you make a poster if you want.

Thanks Kyser. I won't be entering Spyfest unfortunately. Here is one scene that I created. It was a surreal moment when the protagonist gets betrayed. He's lying in an alley dying and in between life and death. This was going to be part of a reflection montage where he remembers his life, but very exaggeratedly.

I was going to shoot everything very stark and plain the first 30-60 seconds. Then as the character is passing away, breathing shallowly like a dying fish on the bank of a muddy creek, the colors all starts to pop out from what is "flashing before his eyes" on his way to death.

Aaron Marshall - Omen (Sky Scene) (http://noct.us/media/video/Aaron%20Marshall%20-%20Sky_Scene_Scope.wmv)

Location shot: Marin County, California
Sky shot on: Nikon D200 time lapse
Noir silhouette: Sony PDX10, rotoscoped
Lightning: Post, After Effects, 15 screened and separately triggered light sources

Thank you for your interest. I will be watching every single Spyfest entry, voting and reviewing. I look forward to seeing all of your films.

Hey Mike, sorry to hear the news. I love, love, LOVE your poster!!! Downloading clip now.

I see that you are in Nashville. Been there a few times to visit family. Pretty cool place. And I see that you shot in Marin County... one of my favorite places in the world!

Hope to see you in the next fest!

Whoa, I didn't realize I'd gotten any replies to this thread. I was buried in a project and temporarily forgot about DVXuser. Thanks Mark, Charli, David, Aram, Mike, Joe, and Ted. I didn't mean to seem ungrateful.

Marin county is pretty cool.

I'm not even going to say I'm entering next fest because I will jinx myself. I won't even make a thread unless I'm 95% through post production. :)
