her name... gee Terry.
I got a friend named Terry! He's pretty big, too! Not someone you'd want to meet on a dark street alone.
At first I thought this thread ment the big LA (Louisiana, Hollywood South, where I live), as there was no abbreviation. But it's not, it's the small LA. But if anyone is in the southeast LA. area, drop me a line!

hey Joe,
How about coming to the next hvx meeting. everyone seemed realy nice. But I guess we wouldn't discuss many technical aspects of the dvx? I don't own one and i'm not very familiar with it. :(

I wish I was in Louisiana this week... all those... beads... and... boooooobs...
I told Barry and Jarred to do a "Special" Boot Camp down here during Mardi Gras! But nnnoooooooooo! Just kidding. It would be fun, though. Y'all think about it. It's Mardi Gras every night in The Quarter...
http://www.bbalser.com/video/MG07test.mov
What you're talking about is the Bourbon Street crowd, the one in the clip I linked to above.
Off Bourbon Street, it's way more calm. Jackson Square is family teritory. Moon Walk, Waldenburg Park, Farmers/Flee Market, etc, etc, etc. Lots of non-drunk-frat-dude places to see and do things on Mardi Gras day in New Orleans, Jefferson Parish, and pretty much all of southwest Louisiana.
Everyone has a Mardi Gras now. But nothing close to here.
Problem is, only thing anyone knows is, the Girls Gone Wild tapes and Cops. How'd you like YOUR home town know for nothing but Girls Gone Idiot and Legal Violence?
But I'm single, so, well, figure it out.
I hope to have a montage clip up of this past Mardi Gras in the next week or two. There's so much footage to go through, such a variety of "content"...
"Editing" may take awhiled...
Remeber that what happens in New Orleans...
Gets sold on a 10 volume DVD set for $19.95 three weeks later on late night cable TV!

02-22-2007, 11:02 PM
I'm sure it's a great place to be during Mardi Gras. Kind of something for everyone, like you said. Me, personally... I'd be on Bourbon Street checking out the boobs...
Oh, and your footage looks pretty good. I saw the screenshots from the other thread you had about the settings.

Hmm cant get your links to work, I'd like to come to the next meeting and see what'cha all talk about. As many of you may or may not know I solved a problem with the Fig Rig and created the Quick-Base, see http://www.sinivision.com and click on products. So if anyone is interested I'd be happy to do a demo of my products and product line as well as DVX and or HVX stuff....

Hey Joe, I wasn't sure if you were responding to Tommy or me, but yeah if you want to come down to the next HVX meeting feel free. Those guys at Jargon entertainment are nothing less than TOP NOTCH. They seem very open to help people out. I don't even think they charge to let us use their space.
And Yes I'm aware of your Fig Rig Base. the last meeting user "DC" brought his set up including your base. But I would still bring it if you come next meeting. I'm sure there will be new faces.
Hope to see you there.

With your cam, you'd have to be committed by the end of the day. That, or arrested. You should seriously look into it. Once is enough, but once is necessary.

I'll definitely have to. It's one of those "top 100 things to do in my life" types of things. I'll have to wait till I'm freelancing because there's no way I could get away from work for more than a few days. That's one of the disadvantages of working at a 2 person company...

Or is it?
Doesn't that mean there's only "one" person to overpower?

I too am a lover that of the boooobs... : )
Tom Marshall
02-23-2007, 12:11 AM
Well... I'm not doing what I want to do, which is acting/filmmaking, so it's a complete waste of time for me, since I can't get away from the office for any reason, so going to any sort of acting audition is out of the question. I actually despise what I do, which is web development (programming, actually). I'm planning on going to freelance within the next six months or so, but first I have to have back surgery. Yeah, not a good thing. And finally, my boss is a total asshole. Sometimes I get so angry at him, I seriously want to hurt him. I just have to sit there and tell myself it's just a job and he's an asshole... So no, it's not a good thing... lol
I too am a lover that of the boooobs... : )
Like no woman in the world has breasts except when she gets to New Orleans?
My word, get over it, it's not about the boobs. They're more rare than you think. Cops are cracking down hard on that sort of thing. Not that it doesn't happen here and there. But, there's way more to Mardi Gras in New Orleans than boobs. It's also a music festival, too. And so much more...

Well I am 100% confirmed as a day of in LA on March 31st. So whose coming out?
Charli
03-03-2007, 08:41 AM
Noel - where do you want to meet? Of course I'm trying to get everyone over here at the Promenade. Theaters, restaurants, shops all clumped together, plus the beach. Of course, I'm trying to bring people this way because I don't know my way around LA at this time. Boy, I need a smaller car, this Expedition ain't working.

Ill confirm where I am staying on the night of 31st. Have to make a call. I dont know LA so I will leave the rest to people that know.
EDIT: Staying at Renaissance hotel near Kodak theatre.
Tom Marshall

I say we keep it in that area. Right around Highland / Cahuenga in Hollywood.
Charli

I was at the Kodak theater today. I still vote for Santa Monica, let's go to Hooters for lunch and then play some beach football - I am such a tomboy.

Umm... never heard of it...once in your life, you owe it to yourself to go. if you want to see the REAL L.A. -- the depraved underbelly of the city: it's a seedy, David Lynchian, filthy bar with heavily tattooed strippers (not all of which are women), and an old woman in a boa and cowboy hat serving drinks. you might assume it's a bit of a sausage fest in there, but actually it's not your typical "gentlemen's club".
i once saw a tranny with a whip take a lit cigarette from a patron and stick it between her ass cheeks while parading back and forth on stage, cracking his/her whip. haven't been there in a few years, but some of my fondest drunken, drug addled memories happened there.
i'll never forget the many nights on the town that ended at jumbo's clown room.

Coincidentally, I'll be in LA (well, Hollywood) on march 31st, but I'm going to see TV on the Radio at the henry fonda theatre that night.

Sounds like something far east of Highland somewhere in Hollywood... I'll have to check it out just to say I've been there. I take it it helps to be intoxicated?

Well I am around all day so assuming the bowling tthing can happen evening? I can do both. I assume with bowling however we would need some booking and I will need to declare - havent bowled since uni.
Anyway from here on in could people respond with:
Yes: Santa Monica for lunch and whatever Charli has in mind (I remember beach and hooters being mentioned)
Yes: Bowling at luckystrike - evening I guess for bowling, chatting, beering, whatevering.
Or/ another preference?
Charli

Noel - There's 3 blocks of shopping here, 3 movie theaters, the pier with amusement rides and Hooters, what more can you ask for? lol I do look forward to seeing you, bring a copy of what you have done on the Tokyo Angel. Would love to see a rough cut.
