Hey everyone,

I recently shot an interview for a documentary I've been working on for the last four months and I am in the process of making my first cut. The interview as done in pretty close quarters, and we used only one Lowell with a soft box, which was raised as high as I could make it in the location.

However my subject wears glasses and in some of my shots there is glare coming from them.

I am wondering if it would be possible to eliminate the glare via plug-ins or rototscoping in AE. Has anyone ever tried something like this before? Suggestions besides using a bounce card next time :-Laugh(DBG):

Thanks!

That'd be a very tough, time consuming process. How bad is the glare?

You might be able to try some gamma correction, maybe mess with the brightness, etc. But the thing is, if its on his glasses its on his glasses. You can't scrape away the glare and see his eyes through the glasses if its really bad because the video information just isn't there.

I'd be curious is there is a plug-in for this, but I think it's going to be the same deal as bad audio. Not a ton you can do.

The glare pops up from time to time whem my subject moves around in his chair. I'm sure a gamme correction might do the trick, I also shot it a bit flatly as I was planning to use Magic Bullet to adjust the look of the image to fit the look i'm giving my documentary.

I'll see if I can post up some screengrabs.
