We've asked who has a myspace, but who has a facebook here on DVXuser? I actually prefer facebook to myspace, it's a lot cleaner interface, less buggy, and you can have as many photo albums as you want! Pretty cool! Here's my facebook... do you have one?

No... anyone can join now...it's been a good networking and promotional device for Smuggler's Ransom, the facebook group has over 130 members.

A bunch of my friends have both Facebook and MySpace. I refuse to get either of them, but I suppose having an account here is almost the same thing.

myspace stinks IMHO compared to facebook, the facebook interface is just so much better.

I'm on myspace a ton more but I agree, facebooks' interface is rock solid.
I resisted for the longest time... but mounting social pressures necessitated it.

Ya know, I don't understand the people that "refuse" to join anything like that. It seems the more popular something gets, there's always the "cool kids" who won't do it just to stay "cool".
Site's like that are GREAT for networking (at any age. you'd be surprised), getting your word across, keeping in touch with people whom you may otherwise lose touch, reaching an audience, and much more.
If only for those reasons, why not join??
Yeah... this is way off topic. Don't know why I'm even ranting about it. Whatever.
p.s. No, I don't have a facebook, but I'll look into it.

Okay. I agree. It's just that I don't need any more Internet to take up my time. I'm on this site if not posting then reading almost all of my free time (excluding weekends). Plus, if my friends want to talk to me, they can IM me, or call me.

no facebook
I have a myspace
but IMO all those damn social networking sites are spam ridden and not very good for much
I think a creative blog with alot of good content is WAYYY better for getting your film noticed than some pimped out myspace page blasting spam 24/7
just my 3 cents.

Actully facebook is nearly spam free and a great way to network (Gosh, that felt like a commercial for facebook, lol)

the only thing i like better about myspace is that you can customize your page and embed videos on it

Agreed, I have it too. I never thought DVXusers would be on it too. It's pretty cool and I think I will use it to try to network in terms of film.

OK... I'll agree to that. That's about the ONLY downside, and I almost put it in my original post. Already being a member of a few different forums can potentially take up a LOT of time. Adding another to the list is sometimes too much.
P.S. Just signed up. ADD ME PEOPLE, I'm keeping this one sctrictly for film.

I finally buckled under the pressure and signed up for Facebook. and in two days I reconnected with about 15 friends I haven't talked to in years. and found likeminded people. and wasted a lot of time just clicking around.
Facebook is a good idea but it has very serious shortcomings: not everyone is an american (only american political views are represented), not everyone went to college (I went to University), not everyone is "looking for" someone etc etc etc.
still, it's nice to keep track of how many of my old buddies now have kids :0)

I think the problem is well known in the Web design Industry, if a "Surfer" waits more than 20 seconds for a page to load, s/he will most likley close it or go else where, people are just that impatient (I've done it plenty of times myself).
Web designers go to great lengths to ensure surfers get fast access, hence you will notice how many times webapges will say its "Quick" to register or "Fast" or "Few clicks" etc..
I know so many times when I've just left webpages because the information I wanted required me to be a registered user, 90% by going back to the search I've found what I was looking for elsewhere without the need to register.
Its just the way alot of surfers are.

But this is what makes Facebook better than Myspace, if you ask me. Registration weeds people out.
