I have had the XL2 for about 2 months now and i am finding that its Skin Tones and even its color is very muted looking compared to the DVX100A which i had prior to the XL. Am i doing anything wrong or does the XL2 just suck with processing color?
I've had my XL2 for 3 months now and experience this problem as well. After perfoming some experiments I'm beginning to think that the XL2 needs at least one stop more light than the DVX in similar situations.
When I'm shooting indoors, caucasian skin seems to blow out in a pink hue making peoples faces look mushy pink especially in low light situations where gain is used. I've tried compensating by reducing the Red gain but then everything tends to lean towards the Green spectrum. When I'm shooting outdoors in daylight the problem is much less apparent. Compensating via a 1/25 shutter speed also fixes the problem slightly but then it detracts from the 25p effect.
None of the cameras I've ever owned have given me so much trouble with colour correction in post.
The DVX seems to be much more user friendly in terms of colour than the XL2.

Totally aggree with ya...DVX's color is much better then the XL2s but the Xl2 just has features i cant give up for a DVX.:)
