problem: P2 LastClip.TXT files was not copied over during transfer of files from P2 card to external drive.

I know that this file is extremly important in importing the clips into FCP. I've tried switching other LastClip files that i've had to match the ones that are misisng but still getting the file directory structure error.

I've sorted the folder to make sure i'm viewing the last clip through 'Date Modified', so when i entered that info in to the LastClip file, it was the actual last file.

any suggestions???

From what I've seen this will only cause you a problem if the last clip was spanned across 2 cards. If it wasn't then your clip should import fine without it.

P2Log Pro will automatically recreate/repair the 'lastclip.txt' file by just opening the P2 volume then re-save.

I import P2 data into FCP with no LASTCLIP.TXT file all the time.

Thought I was being super-organized by renaming the separate CONTENTS folders (because I was copying from the P2 through the laptop card slot to a hard drive) and wanted to know what each contained later.

I didn't copy the lastclip.txt files, and I thought I was hosed, but when I changed the folder's name back to "CONTENTS" and dragged it into the FCP logger, it worked fine.

Just thought in case you'd done that too you could try this solution. Good luck! I know the sinking feeling you can get in your belly when you think you're screwed.
