Hey everyone. Selling my like new Canon XL2, switching back over to the DVX!
I received the camera brand new in July, and have been using it off and on since. The camera body and lens are in great shape, and the camera probably has a total of 30 or so hours on the heads. The viewfinder still works perfectly, and the opening clip has no problems.
Overall, this camera boasts some great features the DVX cannot. Its native 16:9 and interchangable lenses make it worth it on its own, especially for long lens applications such as wildlife filmmaking, and sports events.
On the other hand, its true 24p makes it a great camera for indie-filmmaking, tv, etc + its use of 2 balanced XLR inputs.
The camera sells new for $3,400.00...
I'm selling mine for $2,800.00 with complete camera, and all included accessories.
I am a verified paypal member, so feel free to use that application.

So why are you switching back to DVX?
I'm a GL/XL user, but I'm still debating on whether to upgrade to a XL2 or DVX100B.
Thoughts?

Well to tell you the truth Rick, I am a life long Panasonic fan, and I have always loved the DVX. The main reason im switching back, is because I will be purchasing a 35mm adapter, and the XL2's stock length is just too long for the adapter + lens + mattebox. I need a camera with a smaller body, to even out the weight. Apart from that, I really just love the DVX's organic color reproduction and ergonomics. The XL2 is still a great camera, just not what I need right now.

why wouldnt you go HD?

Primarily because of the post production process. I myself am not capable of editing in HD right now, and my fellow filmmakers are the same way, which would make it hard to really be independent in our projects.
Technically speaking, I am all for HD. The new Canon XH A1 seems to really be giving the DVX's prime features a run for their money. The size and weight are good, and perfect for use with a 35mm adapter.
Right now, the DVX's price is right, for me to have the extra cash to pick up an adapter, follow focus, and rails and I feel the DVX will continue to be used widespread for quite some time.
Looked at the LetusXL adapter? No need to attach the stock lens, it mounts to the XL2 body.

Sounds cool, I'll check that out.
I can tell you from experience that the XL2/LetusXL combo will produce cleaner/clearer images than the DVX/Any other adapter combo. Disjecta has some Letus footage floating around. The XL2 16:9, 960X480 CCDs really blow away DVX squeeze.

The only thing is that all the LetusXL footage ive seen seems very video reminiscant, and INCREDIBLY soft... Im sure its just the operator, but I need to see this adapters potential before I change my mind and right now everywhere I look the footage is unavailable, or no longer being hosted.
I dont have any footage online but, unlike the regular Letus, I found it VERY sharp. The disjecta footage was about the best footage I have seen from any adapter. The elimination of needing to use a built in lens just makes it easier and crisper.
It loses about the same light as the M2 BUT it flips the image for you and it literally takes 30 seconds or less to set up, the M2 takes much much longer.

Thats not a steal lol. I sold mine less than a month ago for 2500 after searching for a buyer for a month. If you get 2900 im gonna be so pissed. Ebay is your best bet, I advertized on dvinfo, dvxuser, dvcreators, even xlcinema and I didn't even get one bite. Good luck getting that much for it. Mine had 20hrs on it too. Not a scratch on it.
