I upgraded to the 3.0 FS100 firmware. I shoot in 720/60 Quicktime and import the QT files into FCP 5.1.2. When I am editing, the timeline clips now all need to be rendered. Before the upgrade, I would import the P2 files into FCP using the P2 import setting, and the timeline did not need to be rendered for every clip. This is taking up more time than before the upgrade. Any ideas? Thanks.

Don't know what to say.

I shot 720/60 QT PN just yesterday without an issue.

I used the standard 720p/60 preset.

What are your sequence settings and what do the "Item Properties/Format" show when you right click on the clip in the browser?

And under the project settings in the sequence menu what does it say?

Access it by hitting command/zero?

Finally are you capturing QT or QTPN or MXF?

Looks as though I changed the Easy setup to 720/60 after I had imported the files at a 720/30 setting.
Thanks for your help David.

I make that mistake a lot, too. Just have to remember, not 60i anymore, it's now 60p! So 60 does not really mean 30 anymore. Very common.

I give it two years and we'll all be doing a repeat with some new, amazing codec.
