am planning to shoot my next project on hvx200 with the brevis.
i will need to hire it though. it would cost me aorund 300£ or so for a week.
i have ready and free access to a dvcpro50 910.
i had been told that dvcpro50 910 would gimme image quality on par with hvx200.
if i use the mentioned dvcpro then i can use the money thus saved on production.
what would you reckon i use?
also consider that the footage would go through some heavy post production...vfx, color correction, composites.

Apparently you won“t shoot HD. So both do DV50.
NExt question: do you need/want P2 workflow?
Next question: will you want to use variable framerates?
If those two are NO, then take the otehr free cam. If one is yes, weigh its importance. If both are yes, take the HVX.

thanks alpi. but i didnt understand what u meant by:
"Apparently you won“t shoot HD. So both do DV50."
i want to shoot hd if it would look better than a dvcpro50 910 footage. u saying that hvx can do dvc50 quality footage???
am fine with a p2 workflow. i have a dell precision m90 which was bought with the intention of shoot and post for hd.
am really into post prodcution and visual effects. i had already done lot of work in this area. for visual effects the bigger the image the better it is. i think hvx can gimme 1920x1080 while dvcpro50910 can only gimme 720x576. hope my facts are right here.
sorry if i am being a pain. aint a pro. any help is highly appreciated. i really need these advice since am doing my pre-production planning and would be going into prodcution soon.

The 910 is about 8 years old though, isn't it? You'd have to test 'em. A lot can change in 8 years, and an HVX may actually be delivering a better image than an 8-year-old 2/3" cam. But side-by-side testing is the only way to know.

amarjeet,
yes the HVX shoots DV50 in 720x576 also.
it really depends on your output at first. then you need to check the old cam as Barry suggested.
